Rainy days can put a huge damper on your fun if you have nothing to do. That's where we come in! Fentress County boasts some great attractions, restaurants, and places to sight see, even while it's raining. Below are just a few of the great thing's to do until the rain stops. Cumberland County Playhouse - This fine regional performing arts center is one of the most active in rural America. It offers professionally produced musicals, plays, and concerts in three theaters on a lakeside site from February thru mid-December. Famous productions include-Hello Dolly, Oklahoma, Man of LaMancha, Grapes of Wrath-mix with Cumberlands culture-Smoke on the Mountain, A Homestead Album, Quilters and much more. Visitors often have a choice of several productions. Also the shady grounds around the Playhouse invite picnics, and the Theater-in-the-Woods is a magical setting for occasional summer evening productions. Highland Manor Winery - Highland Manor Winery specializes and produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Highland Red, Seyval Bland, Reisling, Cayuga White, Royal Rose, Southern Blush Chardonnay, and their well know Muscadine. While at Highland Manor Winery you can enjoy free tours and tastings daily. Visitors may also purchase a variety of award-winning wines, specialty food products and you may also picnic on the grounds. Muddy Pond Mennonite Settlement and Country Store - Located in Hanging Limb, the Muddy Pond Mennonite Settlement has a variety of family-owned businesses offering baked goods, molasses, and leather productions. While at Muddy Pond you can visit the Muddy Pond General Store, with quilts, crafts, natural food and a deli, Bauman's Harness & Leather Shops, the Muddy Pond Sorghum Mill & Store, where you can watch them make molasses, and Bachen Haus Bakery, offering delicious breads, cinnamon rolls and pies.
