Small Mark Twain Park

Mark Twain Park - The Mark Twain Park is a small, grassy area with trees located near the courthouse. The spring here is the one where Mark Twain's parents got their water while they lived in Jamestown. They had only been in MO three months when Mark Twain was born. The park is located near the Jamestown post office and is open year round to the public.

Alvin C.York Grist Mill - The park pays tribute to the greatest Hero of World War I, Sgt Alvin C. York. The historic park includes the York family farm, the grist mill he operated for many years on the banks of the Wolf River and the store which he frequented which now serves as a vistors center.  Directions: Pall Mall is 10 miles north of Jamestown, TN on Hwy 127; about 40 miles from each of exits 300, 301, and 317 on I-40 and exit 141 on I-75.  (931) 879-3657

Historic Rugby - Time stands still at Rugby, Tennessee - the restored Victorian village founded in 1880 by British author and social reformer, Thomas Hughes. It was to be a cooperative, class-free, agricultural community for younger sons of English gentry and others wishing to start life anew in America. At its peak, some 350 people lived in the colony. Ye Old Jail -This century old building made of native sandstone is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is home to the the Fentress County Chamber of Commerce. Hwy 52 West in downtown Jamestown, on the square, 931-879-9948

Jamestown Depot - Historic Depot for the O&W railroad which last ran ran in March, 1954, over 52 years ago. The railroad served as a vital link between Jamestown and Oneida. Access photos of the depot by clicking on the photo above.

Historic Jamestown Courthouse - Burnt in 1905, much of the original Fentress County Courthouse and history was lost. The plans for the original courthouse was developed by Samual Clemens. The courthouse just received a new clock for the tower, something that had been planned 100 years prior.

Colditz Cove Colditz - Cove State Natural Area is located in Allardt, Tennessee, just 1 mile off Hwy. 52. The 1.5 mile loop will take you behind the 60 foot high Northrup Falls. This is a short and easy walk to get to hiking trail.
